The Hidden Aspect of the Economy That is Bringing Families Together

You see it in other cultures but the benefits are just now reaching Western Society.

Divided we fall, together we succeed. We are living in a world of different races, cultures and financial groups. We in western society have been taught to graduate from high school, either go to college or trade school and then move out and get married. As time as progressed we have seen many changes. For instance marriage is not a contract that is being accepted anymore. Higher education, as it is called, is no longer the norm and children are living at home longer than before. It keeps being drilled into our heads and daily life, as well as acceptance into social society, that living at home while still in our 20’s or 30’s means something is mentally wrong with us. It took me some time to realize that other cultures were on point with their way of living as it pertains to the family unit. Why in the western world do we put our elderly in rest homes while other cultures keep their elderly at home with them? They will live longer, are more healthy and the pressures of life as we age, are not taken on alone. Why do we pay for our children to go to college in another state and then pay for an apartment, tuition and books and give them an allowance for groceries and for everyday necessities? Why do we take out loans and student loans for college and then find ourselves in debt after finally graduating? It’s called conditioning and the norm. Not to mention the ones who do not have familiar support and have to work to pay for the aforementioned items. Now I do understand there are some jobs or careers that require college or university type of knowledge but even that has contributed to societal debt.

The culture in the United States is changing and the current economy is bringing us to this new way of living. I saw a quick video on Instagram of a Saudi Arabian family in which they were questioned as to how they could afford to drive a Ferrari and live in a huge home/mansion. The answer is simple, the families live together and the vehicles are for all the family members to drive. The men, who are the Protectors of the family, went to work and the women, who are the nurturers, took care of the home and the children. The wives and mothers of the family worked together to ensure the household activities ran smoothly. This is fantastic and has always been looked down on with comments like, “Why do so many of them live in the house,” or “That has to be horrible to live like that.” The truth is, it is the right way to live.

We should be pooling our resources together and strengthening the family unit. You will never be alone, left to fend for yourself, you will not struggle financially and you will be a happier and be a more productive person. Many cultures we see these days are all living under one roof, so to speak, and we in the Western World need to start doing this. Our Government has done and is doing so much to separate us as a people, that our families need to come together and fight back. Bring back living in family compounds, large homes with enough land to build add-ons to the main home. Start learning to be more self-sufficient as a family unit and not so reliant in shopping at grocery stores and paying for mechanics when we can learn trade abilities.
